Gargoyles: Long Way To Morning – Episode Review

Disney Gargoyles logo with Goliath template long way to morning

Did Demona abandon her efforts to convert the clan to her side? Not a chance. This time she’s upped the ante, putting Elisa’s life in the balance. With that kind of leverage, Demona can move mountains, or in this case Goliath. She didn’t bargain on Hudson coming along, though. Will old age and cunning win out against youth and strength? And what about Demona? How’s she handling the clan “betraying” her?

Gargoyles: The Edge – Episode Review Continued

We’re back, on The Edge of the second half! Aren’t getting soft, are you? The clan is on a collision course with the Steel Clan. It’s no repeat of Awakening, either. This is a new breed of opponent.

Both protagonists and antagonists will learn something about themselves in this ep. Know thyself.

Gargoyles: The Edge – Episode Review

Finally, THE EDGE! It’s always been one of my fave eps, alongside Eye of the Beholder, Vows, and The Gathering parts 1 and 2.

Now that everyone’s settled in their homes – new and old – we can get back to business. Rather, David Xanatos can. He dropped into his old routine without a pause, but he’s not as confident as he appears. Is he losing his edge? It’ll take more than a new Corvette to resolve this doubt. In typical Xanatos fashion, he has a plan that’ll kill two birds, or possibly gargoyles, with one stone. Or robot. Gotta love those Xanatos Gambits!

We meet an upgraded version of the Steel Clan. Will the havoc they’re wreaking through the city put the gargoyles in harm’s way? Don’t worry, Xanatos has a good reason for his maneuvers.

Gargoyles: Enter Macbeth – Episode Review Continued

Macbeth (re)Enters! We finally learn why Macbeth kidnapped Lexington, Bronx, and Brooklyn. It’s also time for a change of address for a most of our characters. The theme of Home runs strong in this one.

Gargoyles: Enter Macbeth – Episode Review

While the idea of Home is an undercurrent in the series, it’s the in-your-face theme of Enter Macbeth. Gargoyles are territorial, so it’s no surprise they’re attached to the castle. Plus, it’s always been their home. But the castle’s rightful owner, David Xanatos, will be free in a mere week. Nobody is happy about being roomies. While Goliath procrastinated even thinking about what will happen when their antagonist comes home, David is already mulling his options. That’s bad news for the clan, but great news for us fans of villains and antagonists! You guessed it: we’re meeting a new, or rather very old, player in the game.

Gargoyles: Deadly Force – Episode Review

After battling Demona’s spells last week, we’re into mundane territory today. Don’t think we’re getting a break, though. The third episode of the Trio’s triptych belongs to Broadway. We meet a new antagonist and see just how manipulative one of our favorite antags can be. Not all the protags’ trouble come from villains, though. Elisa fights for her life thanks to Broadway’s mistake. Will he to step up and take responsibility for his actions, or let the new antagonist take the blame?

This is a unique episode, one that Toon Disney actually banned!
